Research Consultant Job

Burns Owens Partnership (BOP) is a leading consultancy on the development and implementation of public policy for culture, media and the creative industries.

BOP has grown considerably in the last two years and is now looking for an enthusiastic and capable research consultant to work in our London office. We are a small and highly flexible team that works all over the UK and beyond. The position is key to the continuing development of the company, offers excellent prospects for career progression, and we hope that the successful candidate will grow with us.
Applicants will need to enjoy working as part of a team in a small company environment, while also possessing a high level of initiative and being capable of responding flexibly to a wide range of research briefs.

The candidate will be of (at least) graduate calibre and have either formal training in economic and/or social research methods or possess equivalent experience. This will cover both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Knowledge of statistical packages such as SPSS and a good working understanding of the government’s key economic and social data sets (including the use of NOMIS), are all highly desirable. The ability to write to a high standard is key to the position.


Knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas would also be very relevant:

Interest and experience in wider areas of culture (heritage, museums, libraries, archives, sport, or tourism) or social policy (education, health or employment) would be advantageous.
